Special Services assists patients and families in navigating the health care system. When patients are admitted to the hospital, Special Services provides insurance companies with the clinical information they need, and negotiates the inpatient and skilled hospital days needed for recovery.  Special Services work in collaboration with medical providers, nursing and rehabilitation, 以及其他保健机构和机构的社会工作者和出院计划人员, 与病人及其家属制订出院计划，并安排病人的出院后护理.

Supporting patients and family in crisis, as well as making sure families have their basic needs met while they are here, is an important part of the hospital's Special Services program. This may include arrangements for:

• Food
• Lodging
• Transportation
• Spiritual support
• Other needs

To help facilitate such arrangements, Special Services maintains a list of community social services, healthcare and legal resources for the community. Special Services is often the intermediary between the hospital and law enforcement.
